Education or Indoctrination?

What is the difference? According to oxforddictionaries.com indoctrination means "the process of teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically." This same source defines education as "the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, usually at a school or university." How do we differentiate between the two terms? Is indoctrination always bad? Is education always good? What should be the distinction? As you continue to read 1984, decide what Orwell is revealing about instruction of children. What role do the children play in the novel? What does Orwell want readers to realize about the vulnerability of children? How is his point relevant in society today?
